Most Wanted, like other Need for Speed game, is basically driving and racing games, where players choose one car and race against time limits or other racers to reach the goal.
Police chase once again been integrated into certain racing sessions, in which police used vehicles and tactics to stop the car and arrested the player of players, such as Need for Speed : Hot Pursuit, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 and Need for Speed: Carbon.
As players control the fast cars and increasingly rely on increasing the speed of nitrous oxide, the oxide meter now automatically refill for the first time since its introduction in Underground, and the driving sequences become fast-paced and intense similar to the Burnout series.
